Republic Sun Yat-sen English Pattern "Junk" Dollar Year 18 (1929) MS61 NGC. Royal mint, L&M-94, Kann-615, KM-Pn99. One of the six different 1929 Junk Dollar patterns struck by various countries. This example is known for the, so-called, angry waves below the Junk. Fully lustrous, and well struck, with a touch of golden toning. The surfaces while minimally flawed, and prooflike, do show a considerable number of die striations. These are fine lines in the die as a result of die-polishing and have been transferred to the planchet through striking. These lines are not flaws, but rather a natural part of the production process. This example is very conservatively graded and has considerable eye-appeal.
