Republic Sun Yat-sen Austrian Pattern "Junk" Dollar Year 18 (1929) AU58 NGC. Vienna mint, L&M-97, Kann-617, KM-Pn101. Reeded edge. A desirable pattern of the popular "Junk Dollar" design, produced by the mint in Vienna, Austria and submitted as a proposed design, along with other renderings, by mints in the United States, England, Italy and Japan. Ultimately, this design was not adopted, but re-striking of the design at the Hangchow mint contributed to the relative availably (for a pattern) of this charming issue. Essentially full mint luster, with a hint of golden patina. Only the slightest touch of friction is noted, with a few light hairlines and minor marks.
