People's Republic Colorized Proof Pattern "Hoopoe Bird" 10 Yuan 1999 PR68 Ultra Cameo NGC, KM-Unlisted (cf. KM1328 for circulation issue dated 2000). A rare pattern-issue colorized coin with a total population of six pieces at NGC. As expected of the certified grade, the details are sharply struck and the fields nearly flawless with bright mirrors. Recent auction records from mainland China have proven difficult to locate, although a similarly graded piece appeared in a Champion Macau auction (3 Dec 2011, Lot 1242) where it hammered for $105,000.
