China Ta-Ching Government Bank Hankow $1 1.9.1906 Pick A63A. Do not confuse this note with its remainder! These locally printed notes were issued shortly after the establishment of the Ta-Ching Government Bank, which took over issuing rights from the Ta-Ching government (which issued the cash notes) and the Board of Revenue (which issued the tael notes). Shortly after its establishment, printing contracts were first given locally, but to match the printing quality of contemporary private banks, it quickly switched contracts to the American Bank Note Company, which started printing in 1909. These issued notes were not only in circulation for a short time, it was also subject to complete replacement, first by the ABNC notes, then by Bank of China notes after the establishment of the Republic of China. This issued example is in a beautiful state of preservation, with the clean fold down the center from being unfortunately stored rather than actual use in commerce. PMG About Uncirculated 50.
