China Banque Industrielle de Chine $5 1.10.1915 Pick S396a. A solid PCGS Fine 15 example of a note from this storied bank. This was the smaller of the French interest banks operating in China at that time, barring the regional Banque de l'Indochine. The bank almost faced a run, which required the support of the government. Eventually, the bank was closed in an orderly fashion, which led to the majority of its notes being redeemed.
