China Russo-Asiatic Bank $100 ND (1914) Pick S489s Specimen. A vividly colored example of this high denomination. Three languages are seen on this note which served Russian interests in China. The area of circulation were mainly in the northeastern provinces bordering Russia, but as seen in the Chinese name of the bank, eventually expanded to serve Shanghai and other large commercial areas. This Specimen prepared by Bradbury Wilkinson preserves the kaleidoscope of colors used in the underprint. A very appealing and eye-catching note for any collection.
