Thailand Government of Siam 1000 Baht 11.2.1933 Pick Unlisted. A monumentally rare design prepared by Thomas de la Rue but eventually not used. From the dates, it can be seen that the Government of Siam already planned on re-releasing high denominations, the next which was eventually introduced in the 1939 series. In this series featuring King Rama VII, the highest denomination was the 20 Baht, with the demand of higher denominations filled by notes of the first Baht series. The ornate intaglio design of the face remains detailed and original, with the embossing of the denomination devices easily seen on the back. An absolute trophy note, especially considering that this design was not known to have been printed until just a few years ago. 4 POCs are seen. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 Net, previously mounted.

Estimate: 20000-25000 USD
