KINGS of MACEDON. Demetrios I Poliorketes. 306-283 BC. AR Tetradrachm (30mm, 17.25 g, 11h). Amphipolis mint. Struck circa 291-290 BC. Diademed and horned head right / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΔHMHTPIOY, Poseidon Pelagaios seated left on rock, holding aphlaston in extended right hand and trident in left; monogram to inner left and right. Newell 112 (dies XCIX/189); McClean 3578. EF, lightly toned. Fine style. Extremely rare issue, only the McClean coin known to Newell, none in CoinArchives.
