Postumus. Romano-Gallic Emperor, AD 260-269. Æ "Double" Sestertius (30mm, 21.53 g, 6h). Treveri (Trier) mint. 3rd emission (Æ), AD 261. IMP C POSTVMVS P F AVG, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / VICTO[RI]A AVG, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm frond; to left, captive seated left. RIC V 170; Mairat –; Bastien, Postume 100; Banti 61. VF, dark green surfaces.

From the estate of Thomas Bentley Cederlind.

This combination of obverse legend and reverse type and legend is only known with a laureate obverse bust, but it appears radiate on this specimen. The coin has a depression in this area, and most likely was overstruck or perhaps even re-engraved at some point.
