MEXICO: Fernando VII, 1808-1821, AR 8 reales, 1811, KM-176, El-53, Sombrerete Provisionary issue, under the authority of General Fernando Vargas, typical adjustment marks, a few obverse flan flaws, crude, just a bit of undertype visible on reverse, VF, R. The Sombrerete Mint was opened on October 8, 1810 and produced coins there until July 16, 1811. It reopened for a short time in 1812, but closed again before the end of that year.
