MEXICO: Fernando VII, 1808-1821, AR 8 reales, 1811, KM-190, El-MX80, Zacatecas Royalist issue, L.V.O. royal arms type, somewhat crude, a few tiny scratches, attractive tone, much better strike and grade than normally encountered for this type, EF, R. Coin production started on November 14, 1810 in Zacatecas for the Royalists. The Insurgents captured the city on April 15, 1811, and made some coins dated 1811 there. The city was retaken by the Royalists on May 21, 1811, and the standard portrait types were struck there through 1822.
