HYDERABAD: BURHANPUR: AR rupee (11.52g), Burhanpur, AH1168 year one (ahad), KM-460.25, in the name of Alamgir II, choice EF-AU, ex Paul Stevens Collection. The first nawab of Hyderabad acquired control over Burhanpur about 1720, and it remained under Hyderabad influence until about 1760, when the city came under Maratha authority. On his website, Stevens has considered Burhanpur a feudatory of Hyderabad from AH1137-1170, though all are solely in the name of the Mughal emperor.
