SELJUQ OF RUM: Siyavush, 1276-1277, AR dirham (2.94g), Konya, AH676, A-B1234, style & calligraphy as Izmirlier-1167, but date 676 instead of 675, couple minor stains on upper right obverse field, pleasing VF, RRRR. 'Ala al-Din Siyawush (Turkish Siyavus) was the nominal ruler under the Karamanids who rebelled against the Seljuqs and their Mongol overlords in AH675, briefly seizing the city of Konya. Their uprising lasted only a few months, and Siyawush was quickly defeated by the Mongols. Siyawush, whose actual same was Cimri, was then executed. His coins were struck at mints in Konya and Lu'lu'a (Lulue), but the dies for all the coins of Konya and most of Lu'lu'a were of such distinctive style that they must have been engraved by local jewelers with little die-cutting experience. No coins of Siyawush are recorded on CoinArchives.

Estimate: 2,000-2,400 USD
