GUATEMALA. 8 Reales, 1824-NG M. Nueva Guatemala Mint, Assayer "M". NGC MS-64.
KM-4. Five mountains with radiant sun rising, date below; Reverse: Ceiba Tree divides denomination. First year of issue for the type. Tied with two other examples at this numeric grade with just two examples certified finer (MS-65) at PCGS and NGC. Of exceptional quality, with a noted absence of die wear that plagues this series. Clearly struck at the beginning of production, with crisp legend and design details evident, especially on the leaves of the Ceiba tree. At first glance the tone appears a glossy amber, though with further scrutiny various sunset hues and a touch of azure at the lower portion of the reverse. A terrific example certain to inspire contested bidding activity. NGC MS-64.

From the Richard Stuart Collection.

Estimate: $3500.00- $5000.00
