GUATEMALA. 8 Reales, 1837-NG BA. Nueva Guatemala Mint, Assayer "BA". NGC MS-62.
KM-4. Five mountains with radiant sun rising, date below; Reverse: Ceiba Tree divides denomination. Tied with one other example at this numeric grade with only two examples certified finer at either NGC or PCGS. Fantastic strike details, especially in the leaves of the Ceiba tree. Deep and vibrant toning, with a large swath of fiery orange with some indigo hue around the inscriptions. The reverse toning is nearly a mirror of the obverse, with the fields a deep inky blue and indigo with a mild band of bright pumpkin hue at 10 to 12 o'clock. NGC MS-62.
