FRANCE. Ecu, 1643-A. Paris Mint. Louis XIII (1610-43). NGC MS-61.
Dav-3797; KM-129.2; Gad-52; Dupl-1349; Ciani-1664; Droulers-116; DFW-82. Rose above crown, no berries in laurel wreath. An impressive example of the newly mechanized coinage of the time. The aged King is fully rendered and expressive. Deeply toned throughout with appropriate royal blue coloring covering most of the obverse tapering into some lighter golden orange hues in the legends and periphery. The reverse displays similar but slightly lighter toning. No major marks or signs of handling make for a very appealing specimen. NGC MS-61.
