FRENCH COCHIN CHINA. Pattern Sapeque Struck in Copper, 1870. NGC MS-64 BN.
KM-unlisted; Gad-unlisted; Lec-1. VERY RARE. Pattern by D. Uhlhorn. According to LeCompte this prototype was created in preparation for an exposition. Reportedly only five examples are known although this number may be increasing as a few examples have come on the market in recent years. Nicely toned surfaces with some lilac hue asserting itself when turned in the light. Much original mint luster within the protected areas of the lettering. Missing from many collection of French colonial coinage. Vibrant and highly attractive. NGC MS-64 BN.

From the Michael Druck Collection.

Estimate: $3500.00- $5000.00
