GREAT BRITAIN. Coronation of William IV Gold Medal, 1831. NGC PROOF-60 CAMEO.
33 mm. BHM-1475; Eimer-1251. By W. Wyon. Bare head of William IV right; Reverse: Diademed head of Adelaide right. The official Royal Mint issue of which 1203 examples were struck in gold of which 238 were subsequently melted leaving 965 distributed, many of which have since seen the melting pot. Lovely flashing proof surfaces with some orange toning in the peripheries and frosted devices to add character. The fields exhibit some wispy lines with a few scattered contact marks but on balance a nice example with no actual wear to the points of relief. NGC PROOF-60 CAMEO.
