HUNGARY. St. George Medallic Taler, 1896. Kremnitz Mint. PCGS Genuine--Filed Rims, Unc Details Secure Holder.
44.47 mm. Bruce-16. The popular motif of mounted St. George putting a dragon to the lance on the obverse and the reverse showing Christ and his disciples aboard a ship in a storm. Incredibly well struck design giving a palpable kinetic energy to the storm racked vessel and rearing horse. Free of any wear or signs of handling and remarkably untoned with original silver luster gleaming throughout. The noted filing to the rims is actually blocked by the current holder and are likely a trivial mark on an otherwise exquisite piece. PCGS Genuine--Filed Rims, Unc Details Secure Holder.

From the Mezo-Toth Kalman Collection.

Estimate: $1500.00- $2500.00
