MEXICO. 8 Escudos, (1714)-J. Philip V (1700-46). NGC MS-62.
26.95 gms. Fr-6; KM-57.3; Cal-Type 23 #107. Very pleasing 1715 Plate Fleet piece with appealing lightly sand washed surfaces. One year type with date on reverse, despite it being off the flan the end of the obverse legend can be identified as the bottoms of the letters of "GRAT". Boldly struck centers with sharp cross and shield. The planchet was well prepared with a nearly round shape and even thickness allowing for a more full strike than often encountered. Considerable luster is present and adds to the overall charming look. Free of any adverse marks or issue and worthy of its solid grade. NGC MS-62.

From the treasure of the 1715 Plate Fleet.

Estimate: $7000.00- $9000.00
