MEXICO. 4 Escudos, 1759-MM. Ferdinand VI (1746-59). NGC AU-55.
Fr-22; KM-139; Cal-Type 36 #115. Two year type with lower relief portrait. Struck with a slightly rusty obverse die showing some deterioration in the finer areas of detail in the portrait. That being the case the areas of highest relief which lack full definition is more due to die wear rather than circulation wear. What evidence of circulation there is can be considered very mild with only a few small trivial bag marks in the fields. Strong original luster can be found throughout the outer legends and in the protected areas of the shield. Fields and portrait showing some even toning. Quite attractive and RARE. NGC AU-55.
