MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1824-MoJM. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder.
KM-A376.2; HO-MO14/MR14; DP-Mo03. "Hookneck". Snake's head pointing below "R" and ray touching the top of "J". A positively stunning example of this highly sought after first type of Republic 8 Reales. Bold strike giving full "LIBERTAD" and eagle's feathers defined if not fully raised. The truly impressive aspect that sets this piece apart is vibrant colorful toning over the entire reverse and around the periphery of the obverse. Strong cobalt hues are present in much of the area with swirling halos of lighter green, maroon and golden yellow around. No detracting points of contact or signs of handling and just an absolutely stunning example of this ever popular type. Tied with one other piece graded at NGC as the finest certified. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder.
