RUSSIA. Kiev. Grivna Ingot, ND (ca. 11th to 13th Century). VERY FINE.
62.80 x 30.53 mm; 151.50 gms. cf.Spassky-Fig. 43; cf.Kaim-32; cf.Petrov-347. Manufactured during the so-called "coin-less period" when the circulation of coinage from Western Europe had been suspended, ingots such as this became the primary form of specie to circulate in Russia. An interesting piece of Russian and Ukrainian history. Moderate to heavy corrosion with minor incrustation. Darkly toned. VERY FINE.

Estimate: $1000.00- $1500.00
