SWITZERLAND. Geneva. Taler, 1794-TB. NGC MS-64.
Dav-1768; KM-98; HMZ-2-339g; Divo-162. Also known as a Genevoise (10 Decimes). Struck on a perfectly prepared planchet free of any flaws or adjustment marks which are sometimes encountered with this issue. Beautiful strike giving full detail and texture to the muraled crown and stephane on Liberty's head. The surfaces too are fresh and only exhibit a few light handling marks and are flashing with strong luster. The toning is quite lovely with a thin line of electric cobalt blue running between the denticles and the outer legends which transitions to a light maroon and then to a lightly golden hue which pervades the central fields and devices. Tied with two other pieces as the finest certified example and certainly one of the finest available. NGC MS-64.
