RUSSIA. Second Expedition of the Russian Fleet Into Finland Bronze Medal, 1713. Peter I (The Great) (1686-1725). PCGS SP-63 Secure Holder.
69 mm. Dia-43.3. By O. Kalashnikov. Armored and mantled bust of Peter I right; Reverse: Warship sailing past rocky outcropping at center with three more ships sailing in distance. A very attractive large format medal sporting a handsome portrait of the Tsar conveying the robust military fortitude of the emerging Russian Empire. Some light slide friction evidence on high points with lighter metal winking out but no actual wear to be found. One dark and one light streak on reverse and some small planchet defects near rims. Glossy fields and surfaces showing little in the way of contact or marks of handling and a very pleasing specimen overall. Cinnamon patina over nearly all of the surfaces. PCGS SP-63 Secure Holder.
