This coin can be definitely placed as coming from the Lydian city of Hypaepa as it can be linked to to other pieces known to have been struck there: a bronze of Commodus (SNG von Aulock 2965) and one of Crispina (BMC 26), both of which were struck under the same magistrate, one Apollonius Menecratous. On each of these coins the city ethnic is clear: VΠAIΠHNΩN.
