Argentina Provincia de Buenos Ayres 200 Pesos 1.1.1869 Pick S496s Specimen. From 1852 to 1861, the Province of Buenos Ayres (Aires) was a separate republic that broke away from the Argentine Confederation. When this note was issued, however, the state was reabsorbed back into Argentina. Because of the strong regionalism between different Argentine states, each state government was allowed to issue their own banknotes, such as this high denomination example.
