Brazil Banco Emissor do Norte 20 Mil Reis 8.3.1890 Face and Back Proof Pick S557p with Set of Progressive Designs, Pictures, and Vignettes. An almost complete set detailing the banknote design process is included with the almost finished product, two fully colored proofs for the Brazilian private bank. The set starts with three photographs, two of which are featured as the face and back vignettes. Small engraved vignettes of the two designs are created, which then culminates in a well-embossed Face Proof on cardboard to test the printing plate. The design is then joined with color to create the Face Proof, which grades PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 Net, paper pull and annotation, and the Back Proof, which grades PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. The lot includes the two Proofs with six additional items. We offered this set once before, and it realized $1340. The history represented in this lot is incredible and would be difficult to duplicate this array of items specific to these Specimens.
