Burma Burma State Bank 100 Kyats ND (1944) Pick 21s1 Specimen. Notes of this issue are known as Ba Maw or peacock notes. Dr. Ba Maw was appointed as the head of state of Burma when Japanese forces "withdrew" on August 1, 1943 from the country. Symbolism on this World War Two era Japanese printed note is a Burmese peacock at left with a rising sun behind a local hut at right.
