DC-10 $4 1882. This issue marked the first use of the $4 denomination by the Dominion Government, as issuance of notes of less than $5 by chartered banks was prohibited after 1880. The $4 denomination was not initially popular, and between 1882 and 1900, only 1.2 million of these notes were produced. PMG Choice Fine 15.
