BC-11 $25 1935. The dates 1910-1935 located at the top of this commemorative were to celebrate the 25th anniversary of King George V's reign which began in 1910. His portrait, and that of Queen Mary, are seen at center. A total of 140,000 of these notes were issued with the English text versus 20,000 in French. Both numbers are misleading as the notes were withdrawn from circulation within two years of their issue, and, at last count in 1942, only around 2000 examples remained outstanding. Strictly Uncirculated examples are very scarce, with just six such pieces offered in our auctions. This is a beautiful note with all the eye appeal of a Choice Uncirculated example.
