BC-17FP/BP $500 1935 Face and Back Proofs. A gorgeous pair of English version Face and Back Proofs that are both well-centered, hole punch cancelled, and mounted on cardstock. The face grades PCGS Choice New 63PPQ and the back is Superb Gem New 67PPQ. The cancels more appropriately should be termed "shadow cancels" as they have barely disturbed the paper. The $500 denomination was retired permanently in July 1938. Collectors possess only nine issued English language $500s, while there are no known French $500s in private collections, according to the Canadian Paper Money Society Note Registry 2013. This in turn puts upward pressure on the few $500 Proofs in the numismatic community.
Estimate: 3000-4000 USD
