Kingston, Jamaica- The Bank of Nova Scotia 1 Pound Jan. 2, 1930 Ch. # 550-38-04-04. After the passage in Parliament of an act to allow Canadian banks to issue notes in any British colony outside of Canada, The Bank of Nova Scotia was the first bank to take advantage of that law, issuing notes payable at its Kingston, Jamaica branch starting in 1900. The example offered here comes from the bank's only small size issue. PMG Very Fine 20 Net, with some paper clip rust that has caused a bit of damage to the paper.
