Cuba Interest Bearing Certificate 1000 Pesos 1.6.1869 Pick Unlisted. A fantastic piece of Cuban history, this 1000 Pesos indented bond is dated June 1, 1869 from New York, where a number of prominent Cuban exiles were living at the time. They established an office at 71 Broadway. The bond is printed in an attractive shade of green ink and includes a vignette of a seated Liberty at top center. This piece is numbered 1620, with the serial number on the left printed in red ink and the serial on the right printed in black ink. The signatures of Jose Morales Lemus and J.F. Basora are seen on this bond. General John A. Rawlins, who had been a heartfelt supporter of the Cuban Revolution, died in 1869 and funds were raised to support his widow and two young children. Ink signatures and the embossed seal remain strong on this well pretty example. PMG About Uncirculated 55.

Estimate: 500-700 USD
