Iran Contemporary Counterfeit Imperial Bank of Persia 3 Tomans 28.11.1910 Pick 2Ax. An absolutely outstanding and elusive design. This odd denomination was only issued once during all the series of the Imperial Bank of Persia. While the underprint is impressive, the intaglio features leave much more to be desired. However, at first look and based on the condition, it has confused more than one person as being a genuine note, as it certainly appears to be one at first glance. This may be one of the few chances to acquire this Pick number, and the appealing condition of this example may offset its status as a contemporary counterfeit. A lower estimate will be used for the benefit of collectors. This example grades Fine with extensive repairs on the back. Inspection is advised as there will be no returns on this lot for any reason.
