Iraq Government of Iraq 1/2 Dinar L. 1931 (1942) Pick 17b. An attractive example of this rare small denomination Iraqi note and the first piece to appear in one of our auctions. The design of this note suggests that the Indian printer used did not have the technical capabilities to produce a watermarked note as the left frame is still present but the space is filled up with an engraved background. The Pick number on the PMG holder is incorrect, and may be rectified by the time of the auction.
