Philippines Banco Espanol Filipino 5 Pesos 1.6.1896 Pick A7a. An outstanding early example issued by the private bank which served as the official note issuing bank in the Spanish colony. The two embossed seals remain excellent, with the paper still strong and relatively complete. We have handled just one previous example of this Pick number, a Choice Very Fine 35 example which realized $5,170 in our April 2016 auction. PMG Very Fine 25 Net, toned, splits.
