Portugal Banco de Portugal 100 Mil Reis ND (1916) Pick 111. The highest denomination of the Reals series before the currency was replaced by the Escudo. The vignette on the face commemorates the Second Portuguese India Armada, which was commanded by Pedro Alvares Cabral, seen on the left. Such a high denomination, especially issued before a currency reform, would be expected to be exchanged. This example, the finest graded for this Pick number out of only two notes, is certainly a rarity for today. PMG Extremely Fine 40 Net, repaired.
