Germany Mainz 20 Livres on 10 Livres 1793 Pick UNL. A truly fascinating siege piece. The city of Mainz and the surrounding area attempted to create an independent republic and align itself with France in 1793. The Prussians were none too pleased with this and besieged the city for eighteen weeks, after which Mainz surrendered.
