Macau Banco Nacional Ultramarino 100 Patacas 19.5.1952 Pick 44a and 100 Patacas 1.8.1966 Pick 51a. A pair of cancelled notes from the Portuguese colony. Like other notes of Portuguese influence (most notably those of Goa or Portuguese India), notes at the end of their useful life were cancelled with two large circles and then destroyed. Though these two notes feature the same design and serial number fonts, the early example has a Waterlow and Sons imprint, while the later example has a Thomas De La Rue imprint, as it had bought out Waterlow and Sons between the issuance years of these notes. The Waterlow and Sons example is PMG Choice Fine 15, splits, annotations. The later example is PMG Choice Fine 15 Net, tape, splits.
