1652 Oak Tree Shilling, IN at Bottom, XF40 PCGS. Noe-5, W-470, Salmon 3-D, R.2. 70.83 gn. As usual for Noe-5, the obverse is misaligned toward 12 o'clock, and the upper obverse displays a straight raised area delivered by the edge of the die. Characteristic of rocker press production, the coin has an S-wave shape, which focuses wear on the upper branches of the tree. The remainder of the shilling has pleasing detail. Neither side displays marks. A late die state with many small to moderate breaks on the reverse, as made. Listed on page 41 of the 2017 Guide Book.
