1652 SHILNG Pine Tree Shilling, Large Planchet, Pellets at Trunk, Noe-1, W-690, Salmon 1-A, R.2, VF35 PCGS. 71.6 grains. This piece is in the late die state, showing heavy die breaks through the date on the reverse. The planchet is irregular in shape, and the strike is off-center toward 12 o'clock, with part of ATHVSETS and most of NGLAND : AN off of the flan. The pine tree is sharp, but there are small areas of unevenness around it. The reverse is uniformly well-struck. Both sides have smooth surfaces and gunmetal-gray color.
