1652 SHILNG Pine Tree Shilling, Large Planchet, Ligatured NE, VF30 PCGS. CAC. Noe-8.2, W-740, Salmon 7-E, R.6. A late die state of the Rarity-4 Noe-8, with a die break below GL, and no beads beneath the second S in MASATHVSETS. Breaks and crumbling also affect DOM. Numerous minor die states exist as the GL break grows. A well-centered example with gunmetal fields and dove-gray high points. A slight diagonal depression is present above the 52 in the date, which causes a narrow area of uneven wear within the left-side branches opposite. Housed in a green label holder. Listed on page 41 of the 2017 Guide Book.
