1766 1/2 P Pitt Halfpenny, Silvered XF40 PCGS. Betts-519, Breen-251, W-8350, R.3. William Pitt the Elder was the Parliament champion behind the repeal of the Stamp Act, detested by merchants on both sides of the Atlantic. This example is mostly walnut-brown but retains ample silvering across the open fields. The sole consequential mark passes through the N in AND. Listed on page 52 of the 2016 Guide Book.
