1787 1C Fugio Cent, New Haven Restrike, Copper, MS65 Brown PCGS. N. 104-FF, W-17560. Newman 104-FF. A meticulously struck and gorgeously preserved Gem of this popular 19th century copy. Chocolate-brown overall with glimpses of mint red in protected areas. Thin rings identify the so-called New Haven Restrike, which wasn't made in New Haven and isn't a restrike, since a strict numismatic interpretation of 'restrike' requires the original dies. Nonetheless, the variety has been collected consistently since the 1860s. Listed on page 90 of the 2017 Guide Book. Population: 11 in 65 Brown, 3 finer (11/16).
