1802/0 1/2 C Reverse of 1802, C-2, B-2, R.3, Fine 12 PCGS. Manley Die State 2.0, struck before the obverse die was lapped to remove rust. Die States 1 and 2 have the curl left of the date closed with internal detail, while later die states have the curl open. The more available of two die pairs for the year, though it is still scarce in an absolute sense. This appealing Fine example has luminous chocolate-brown surfaces that show glimpses of violet and cinnamon. Each side is minimally marked for the amount of wear received. The central reverse shows weakness that is typical of nearly all known examples. Our EAC grade VG8.
