1840 1C Large Date, N-8, R.1, MS66 Brown PCGS. CAC. Ex: Naftzger Collection. Grellman Die State b. A gorgeous chocolate-brown Premium Gem. Contact is virtually absent, and carbon is confined to a couple of tiny tan and gray freckles near star 3. The Naftzger catalog stated that the present cent was "called MS65 and tied for CC#2 in the Noyes census, his photo #30970. Our grade is MS64, CC#3 in the Grellman census." We concur with Grellman's EAC grade. Population: 1 in 66 Brown, 0 finer (11/16).
