Flying Eagle Cents
1858/7 1C Large Letters, Snow-1, FS-301, MS62 PCGS. The flag of an errant 7 is visible at the upper-right corner of the final 8, denoting this as an earlier die state example of the popular Guide Book overdate. A small triangular dot in the field above the date confirms the attribution. Weakness is seen on the upper-right wreath as always, and the eagle's tailfeathers are similarly incomplete. Both sides display dusky olive-brown toning. There are no major abrasions. Population: 13 in 62, 50 finer (11/16).
