Proof Indian Cents
1876 1C PR66 Red Cameo PCGS. PR3. This third die pair of the year is distinguished by a die lump on the jawline. Rick Snow does not give this die pair a glowing review, commenting "These might be confused with mint state examples or called a one-sided Proof." He goes on to say, however: "These are very difficult to find in high grade." This is just such a coin. It is very well produced. The fields are deeply reflective and the devices pop with contrasting mint frost. Each side is even red with just a hint of underlying yellow. Fully struck, of course. Population: 3 in 66 Cameo, 0 finer (11/16).
