1909-S 1C VDB MS65 Red PCGS. CAC. Despite the modest mintage of 484,000 pieces, enough high-grade examples of the 1909-S VDB cent were put aside that few considered it a potential rarity until the 1930s, and then grudgingly so. This attractive, medium-orange example displays peach-orange accents and a sharp strike. The surfaces are smooth and lustrous with only a few clusters of tiny, deep-orange spots on the reverse -- one group above the N in ONE, and a minimal grouping beneath the C in AMERICA. An attractive and original Red coin, CAC-Approved. Housed in an old green label holder.
